Mike LaBua is the founder of Elite Body Personal Training & Fitness Facility in Palm Harbor. With a staff of 20 licensed Personal Trainers, he has geared his business to meet the varied needs of his clients. Mike attended Southern Connecticut State University on an athletic scholarship and was a coach and a competitive body builder before becoming a Personal Trainer. His goal is to keep people doing what they love and want to do, whether they are 30 or 70.
Mike LaBua knows his staff of fitness professionals at Elite Body are at the top of their game. He wouldn’t expect anything else. After all, he’s hand-picked each of them.
Most have bachelor’s degrees in one of the sciences; all are certified personal fitness instructors, accredited by a variety of agencies, including the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
“They’re knowledgeable about a lot of areas relevant to health, fitness and personal training,’’ says Mike. “They’ve been educated in a variety of subjects, including anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, so they know about body mechanics, the awareness of a body in space. When you’re doing physical activities, those are extremely important areas of expertise.’’
The 20 fitness professionals who work with clients at Elite Body include experts in Pilates, yoga, bootcamp training and kickboxing. All have experience in aerobics and weight training and can help each and every client achieve his or her fitness goals.
So how does someone choose the right fitness trainer?
“I always tell people to shop their trainers,” Mike says. “They need to mesh–make sure that personalities click. If you’re the type of person who does best with quiet encouragement, ... Read more about this post

“We’re a huge personal training facility – not a gym,’’ says owner Mike LaBua. “We have all the amenities that a gym has, but we also have a lot of things a gym doesn’t.
“We don’t have memberships or contracts. We do everything by appointment and schedules. So when you come in to work out here you’re here for a workout and to get results.
“And while you’re here, you’ll get the best advice on creating and maintaining a customized fitness plan that will help you to live a healthy lifestyle.’’
Located in East Lake for 12 years, Elite Body relocated to Palm Harbor late last year and had its Grand Opening at the new location in September.
“This location gave us an opportunity to grow and offer more amenities to our clients,’’ says Mike, adding that clients can partake of the Active Isolated Stretching room, a boxing area, a variety of fitness classes, a juice bar, massage therapy area, locker rooms with natural light and ...
