The Bank of Tampa Bay Commits to the Community

In 1984, A. Gerald Divers founded The Bank of Tampa. Mr. Divers was the President of Flagship Bank of Tampa, which was acquired by Sun Banks of Florida in 1984 (which ultimately became SunTrust).  When Mr. Divers started The Bank of Tampa, he set out with a clear focus and took the best of banking traditions and created a bank and a brand built on personal relationships. Their first location opened in Tampa in 1984, and their first Pinellas County location opened in 2012.  The Bank of Tampa is a privately owned by employees, directors, and clients.  Since 2012 The Bank of Tampa has expanded its reach into Pinellas County with offices in Downtown St. Petersburg, Largo, and their new office in Clearwater is scheduled to open in the spring of 2018.

The primary mission of The Bank of Tampa is to continue to meet the needs of the community: making loans to help businesses get started and grow, assisting families to reach their financial goals, and serving the community.  The Bank of Tampa offers personal and commercial banking which includes SBA, Middle Market, Commercial Real Estate, as well as Wealth Management and Trust Services—truly making them a full-service community bank.

With approximately 275 employees, The Bank of Tampa is proud of their ability to make decisions quickly, without the bureaucracy and red tape that larger banks require. They have a client experience that offers the ability to develop close, personal relationships which extend throughout their entire organization. With The Bank of Tampa, you’re developing a relationship with more than just your banker, but with the whole bank.  With assets of $1.6 billion, they’re one of the largest community banks in the Tampa Bay area. The Bank of Tampa believes that their long-term success and growth is dependent on the growth of our community, and they continue to invest in the areas surrounding their offices. In 2016, they donated more than $700,000 to more than 200 different charitable organizations.
