Editorial Guidelines – Destination magazine

Destination is a quarterly lifestyle magazine targeted to residents and visitors of the Upper Tampa Bay communities. This includes but is not limited to Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, East Lake Woodlands, Tampa, Clearwater, and Westchase. We publish 20,000 copies four times annually  which are direct mailed to 12,500 residents and distributed to offices, businesses, hotels, chambers and other key traffic locations throughout Upper Tampa Bay.

Our readers have a strong interest in this region and our editorial coverage seeks to address those issues of most relevance to them. We are seeking timely topics on the people, businesses, arts, culture, lifestyle and events that make our communities special. Story topics in nearby communities (i.e. Dunedin, St. Petersburg, Largo, etc.) will be considered only if they would be of interest to our readers.

We strongly recommend you inquire about a submission before writing.  Stories and press releases will are accepted via attachment in emails only and should range from 400 to 1,000 words. Photographs should be submitted digitally at a resolution of 300 dpi. Payment for stories and photographs  is negotiable. Both should be emailed to editor@destinationtampabay.com, or utilize the online form below.

Stories should fall under one of the following departments:
Arts and Entertainment, Back to Nature, Bon Appetit, Body and Soul, Business and Industry, Health and Wellness, Helping Hands, History in the Making, Resident Profile Special Events

DEADLINES

All story ideas should be approved at least 3 months prior to publication with submission deadline 6 weeks prior to publication. Issues are  published in January, April,  July, and October
