With Elite Watersports’ Tampa Kite Invasion
Saturday, Oct. 5, starts the Tampa Kite Invasion – a Downwind Drag Race, from point A to point B, route dependent on wind direction. The two options are from Gandy to Skyway (17 miles) of from Sand Key to Pass-A-Grille (20 miles). Their fallback date in case of lack of wind, is Sunday. Oct. 6. The event will be a fun, competitive and exciting downwind drag race in three categories: Surfboards, Foilboards and TwinTips, with boat support throughout the race.
Entry fee for the event is $55, with $25 going to Tampa Bay Watch and the remainder to event t-shirts and boat support. An awards ceremony and party will follow the race.
