Presented by Downtown Dunedin Merchants
The Downtown Dunedin Merchants Association will present one of the largest Mardi Gras, celebrations in the Southeast. This annual event will be held on Fat Tuesday, March 5. About 34,000 people are expected to attend this year’s 28th annual Dunedin Mardi Gras Parade and Festival, which includes musical performances.
This year’s festival is produced by AMG Group Music Events. It runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and then spills over to local pubs and restaurants until closing time. Featured band will be The Black Honkeys.
One of the highlights of the event will be a huge Mardi Gras Parade. People who want to watch the parade are advised to stake out a spot along the parade route early since some attendees begin arriving shortly after lunchtime. The parade itself begins at 7 p.m. in front of the Dunedin Stadium, runs along Douglas Avenue and ends near Skinner Boulevard. There will be lots of beads on board the unique Mardi Gras floats to throw to the gathered crowds.
Food truck Court, as well as other vendors, will line Main Street. The parade features floats and of course our very own Mardi Gras King and Queen.
The event is open to the public with no charge. VIP Lounge Tickets available, which include unlimited beer and wine as well as hors d’ oeuvres and the ultimate viewing area and of course lots of beads. For VIP tickets and more information, visit www.liveeventsaccess.com.
