Sets Junior Championship at Innisbrook
Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor is the site for this year’s American Junior Golf Association Bishops Gate Golf Academy Junior Championship for youth golfers ages 12-19. The event will take place from April 17 through 21 on Innisbrook’s Island Course. Bishops Gate Golf Academy has a professional junior golf coaching team now under the direction of Kevin Craggs, renowned PGA Advanced Fellow Professional. Its students have won regional major amateur titles, AJGA events, state majors, and many other prestigious titles. In just three years, Bishops Gate juniors have accumulated over 100 wins. Its home is in nearby Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, where students study with the prestigious Montverde Academy while developing golf and character skills.
AJGA golf facilities are recognized as world-class, attracting national and college teams for training, as well as attracting many touring professionals. The Bishops Gate Championship at Innisbrook includes boys and girls, ages 12 to 19. A field of 132 players will compete over 54 holes, with a 36-hole cut in a stroke play competition. Innisbrook is located at 36750 US Highway North in Palm Harbor. Its famed Copperhead Course recently was home to the Valspar Championship, which was won by defending 2018 champion Paul Casey.
