USA Water Polo is proud to announce the first-ever Clearwater Beach Challenge at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center on Friday through Sunday, May 17-19. This tournament will feature 4 on 4 water polo, with three field players and a goalie, and will be played on the intracoastal waterway at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center in Clearwater. Teams will play four or five games during the two days using FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation) Beach Water Polo Rules.
The Clearwater Beach Challenge and Beach Water Polo has recently been sanctioned by FINA and some exhibition games are slated to be played at the FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea. Competition will be in age groups for young swimmers. The groups are set for 12 and under and 14 and under Mixed and for 16 and under and 18 and under in Boys and Girls Divisions.
