Cult Classic Summer Movie at The Dali Museum
To Present Free Showing of ‘Clueless’
The Dali’s can’t-miss outdoor movie series — Cult Classics — is back again this summer featuring female focused films with a free movie in the Dali’s Avant Garden on Thursday, July 18. This month’s movie is Clueless. This movie is based on a rich high student trying to help the less-than-hip new girl gain acceptance? Alicia Silverstone as Cher is popular, wealthy and attractive but she is searching to make the world (or at least her high school) a better place. Cher takes in the “tragically unhip” new girl, Tai, played by Brittany Murphy, and gives her a Beverly Hills makeover… what could go wrong?
Grab your lawn chair, put on some movie-inspired duds and enjoy free flicks, local food truck fare, and cold craft brews. Doors open and vendors start serving at 7 p.m. Movies will begin at 8:30 p.m. Seating is limited, and spots fill up quickly, so guests are encouraged to come early to claim a spot. Guests are also encouraged to take advantage of their early arrival to experience Museum galleries after hours on the night of the movie for a reduced $10 admission.
The event is held rain or shine (movies and tastings are moved inside during inclement weather). Please bring only low-seating lawn chairs. No pets, coolers, outside food or beverages are permitted. $5 for 5 tasting tickets are available at the event. The Dali Museum is located at 1 Dali Blvd. The Cult Classics series is sponsored by J.J. Taylor Distributing and Creative Loafing.
