Dunedin Fine Art Center fall exhibits showcase an ensemble of exceptional artists from near and far—highlighting the thrills and skills of mark-making and story-telling. Works on paper will be strongly represented via drawings, paintings, collages, photographs, constructions and prints!  Here is the roll-out of the fall exhibits schedule at DFAC:

Douglas-Whitley + Meta B. Brown Galleries 9.8.17 – 10.15.17 As Dunedin Fine Art Center celebrates 25 years of printmaking instruction, we honor its founder—beloved artist and recently retired faculty member, Stephen Littlefield. In Etch-a-sketch, see works by Littlefield’s students, colleagues and distinguished printmakers from the Tampa Bay community alongside drawings by artists with historical connections to DFAC. Artists include: Holly Bird, Lin Carte, John Costin, Neverne Covington, Coralette Damme, Ummarid Eitharong, Syd Entel, Gail Gamble, Aliosky Garcia, Susan Gehring,  Marjorie Greene, Debra Mixon Holliday, Heather Leisch, Melissa Miller Nece, Sharon Norwood, Todd Still and Stephen Schatz among others.

In the tilted world of Pulp Fiction, the combined talents of these multi-media artists take you for a spin to places unknown: photographer, Thomas Allen; collagist / writer, Lou Beach; printmaker / zine artist, Coralette Damme; mixed media guru + author, Denis Gaston; designer / illustrator, Craigio Hopson; dioramist, Kyle; sketchbook dreamer, Daniel Mrgan and painter-poet, Kenneth Shaw.

In the group exhibition, Le Papier, seven artists present works on (and of) paper. See the watercolors of Caitlin Albritton, Eva Avenue and Kristin Beauvoir. Paintings by Leslie Fry and Laine Nixon and the collages of Suzanna Scott. Finally, we remember painter, sculptor, printmaker + visionary, Roland Poska who died earlier this year. Poska had a solo show at DFAC in 2005 of his extraordinary pulp paintings and sculptures. Here, a small sampling of his enormous heart and soul, return to us.

Works from Dunedin Fine Art Center award-winning Summer ART Academy fill the gallery for , Positively Pagemaker: The Art in Storytelling.  The work of these young artists will amaze you!

Saturday September 9th marks the opening of the 19th annual children’s hands-on exhibit, also named Positively Pagemaker: The Art in Storytelling.  This interactive hands on experience for 4.5 to 12 year olds provides an environment where you can explore how integral art is to the written word. This exhibit runs though August 5, 2018 in the David L. Mason (DLM) Children’s ART Museum at Dunedin Fine Art Center.

There are TWO DAYS (well an evening and a day!) of celebration to kick of DFAC’s 2017-18 season. Four of the exhibits open the evening of Friday, September 8th. The evening starts with an Artists Talk from 6-7 pm and is followed by a reception from 7-9 pm.  Saturday, September 9th is all about the kids, featuring CAR PAINTING, FREE Hot Dogs, LIVE music and LOTS of Hands-on fun in the DLM Children’s ART Museum from 10 am through 2 pm.
