The book vividly describes American life in the 1920s, the great depression of the ’30s and Helen’s triumphs and tragedies in the decades beyond. This book is a non-fiction follow-up to the Anna immigration trilogy of novels which tell the saga of a 15-year-old girl’s immigration to America in 1914 and her life through 1919.
