Super Boat Nationals Sept. 28-30
Spectators will flock to Clearwater Beach to witness the 10th Annual Clearwater Super Boat National Championship & Festival September 28 to 30. The Baystar Race Village in Clearwater’s Coachman Park will open on Friday, Sept. 28, at noon with food, beverages and live entertainment. The Super Boat Parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater, followed by the Cleveland Street Party that will keep the celebration going until 10 p.m.
Specially equipped boats will race in the Gulf of Mexico off Clearwater Beach in qualifying heats on Saturday, Sept. 29, and go full bore on Sunday, Sept. 30, for a chance to advance to the World Championships. The Baystar Race Village will be open all day Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night will light up the beach with a huge fireworks display. Races start from Pier 60, so the shoreline and beachfront hotels make great vantage points. Lots of special events are planned, so this three-day event will be packed with activities and fun.
