Fred Astaire Dance Studio Gets Involved in St Pete

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of North St. Petersburg made its debut in April 2016 when Enmanuel Herrera transitioned from dance instructor to a Fred Astaire studio owner. This endeavor began after Herrera attended a Fred Astaire event, the “Freddy Ball,” and realized his future was in dance. Enmanuel has won dance competitions throughout the Tampa Bay area including first place in the Buccaneer Ball of 2015 and Top Instructor for the Tampa Bay region in 2015.  Soon after, Fred Astaire of North St. Petersburg was established.

Fred Astaire of North St. Petersburg, located at 11032 4th Street North, thrives on the wholehearted belief that anyone can dance and will have fun learning to do so. The team at Fred Astaire seeks to share their passion for dance with the St. Petersburg community and takes a genuine interest in each of their student’s dance journey.

The studio offers instruction in ballroom dance styles including Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and Cha Cha, while popular social dance classes are also available in Salsa, Merengue and Swing. Classes are available in group or private lessons, with practice parties held on a daily basis. Fred Astaire even offers wedding choreography, hosts a monthly wheelchair ballroom lesson and holds a ballroom fitness class every Saturday.

The studio will be celebrating a special milestone by hosting The Champagne Guest Party on November 9 at 7:00 PM at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of North St. Petersburg. The free event will introduce ballroom to attendees by offering a Beginners’ Group Class (no dance experience necessary) as well as refreshments and hors-d’oeuvres.

Herrera chose St. Petersburg as the location for the new franchise based on its “wonderful sense of community and pride.” Herrera reiterates this decision saying, “St. Pete is full of vibrant culture and that is very inspiring. It provides a broad diversity of arts for its residents. We are proud to be a part of that.”

Beyond dance, Fred Astaire of North St. Petersburg is involved with several charities throughout Tampa Bay including The Kind Mouse, Hands Across the Bay and Southeastern Guide Dogs. The studio is also in the beginning stages of establishing their own non-profit organization to continue giving back to the St. Petersburg community.
