NEW SERIES! For Pet’s Sake! ‘Dogs with Jobs’
One of the main areas in which dogs work today is in law enforcement. In the face of danger, ordinary dogs often become heroes, but these dogs are police dogs doing police work. They are dogs with jobs! Join us as we welcome the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit and their handler to our library! Hear how puppies are picked to be police dogs and find out where they come from. How are they trained to do such dangerous work? Learn how they “take a bite out of crime” and along with teamwork, protect our community! After the indoor information session, we will go outside for a K-9 demonstration with the handler, weather permitting. No registration required. Disclaimer: Should the Canine Unit have an emergency at the time of the program, the program will be cancelled.
