The Safety Harbor Public Library will host a poetry reading and discussion with Florida Poet Laureate Peter Meinke on Thursday, April 19 at 6:30 pm.
Meinke was named Poet Laureate of Florida by Governor Rick Scott in 2015. A prolific and award winning writer, his work has appeared in The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The Nation, Poetry, and in other publications. He is a Distinguished Writer-in-Residence at many colleges and was recently awarded St. Petersburg’s First Sunlit Festival Lifetime Achievement Award.
