Paddle the Bay Event

Safety Harbor’s Paddle the Bay

Offers Fun for Racers, Onlookers

Racers with kayaks, SUP’s, OC’s and all other paddle vessels are welcome to participate in this year’s Paddle the Bay event on Saturday, April 6, off the shore of Veterans Memorial Park at 110 Veterans Memorial Lane in Safety Harbor. All ages and all levels of racers are welcome to the Paddle the Bay  event. This paddlefest is not only a super fun competitive race, it’s also a fun day out for all those who enjoy great music, tasty food, frosty cold beverages and a 60-foot water slide. This event is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and open to the public. Proceeds from the event will support Paddle for Kids, a program designed to raise awareness for newborn screening so that babies can be cured before it might be too late.

Paddle the Bay event will offer a long Elite Race of 7 miles race, a short recreational race of 3 miles, and a Dolphin Dash for kids, over a quarter-mile course. The event is sponsored by Blake Real Estate. The race starting line is at the waterfront park next to the Safety Harbor Marina.  $5000 in prizes will be raffled or auctioned to support Paddle for Kids. All racers will receive food and beverage with their race entry. If you’d like to compete in the race, you’ll need to register online by midnight April 5.
