St. Anthony’s Triathlon Kicks Off

 

2019 Triathlon Season April 27-28

Elite athletes will gather to compete head-to-head through the scenic waterfront streets of downtown St. Pete in this year’s St. Anthony’s Triathlon on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28.  The Meek & Mighty Triathlon for young athletes ages 7-14 – Swim 100 yds., Bike 3.6 mi., Run ½ mi. and a separate Meek & Mighty event for age 16 to adult goes Swim 200 yds., Bike 5.4 mi. and Run 1 mi. will take place on Saturday with start times from 7:30 to 12:30.

The three USA Triathlon-sanctioned races are set for Sunday: St. Anthony’s Olympic Triathlon – Swim 1.5k, Bike 40k, Run 10k, in three separate categories for elite athletes, VIP athletes and professionals. These races will have starting times between 6:50 a.m. and 12:30. A shorter Sprint Triathlon – Swim, 750 M, Bike 20k and Run, 5k will start between 8:45 and 12:30. As the first major race on the United States calendar, St. Anthony’s Triathlon has kicked off the triathlon season in North America for the past 36 years. The event culminates with a festive waterfront awards party featuring live music, great food and cold beer.
