Proceeds to benefit PARC’s Culinary Program
PARC’s fourth annual Top Chefs event will be held at The Birchwood in their Grand Ballroom on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Highlighting some of St. Petersburg’s top restaurants, PARC’s Top Chefs offers guests open bar drinks, entrée samplings and decadent desserts prepared by some of the best chefs in the Bay Area paired with students from PARC’s Culinary Program.
In 2015, PARC broke ground on a new initiative with the Culinary Program. This initiative was a part of PARC’s Community Employment programs, where clients receive training that allows them to expand their career choices and experience life more independently. The Culinary Program is where clients learn marketable job skills and are given a better chance for future job opportunities in our local, thriving hospitality industry.
Restaurants scheduled to attend include The Birchwood – Birch and Vine, Guppy’s on the Beach, Rusty’s Bistro, and The Galley: A St. Pete Tavern. For the first time, corporate chefs from Bloomin’ Brands, one of the world’s largest casual dining companies, will also be partnering with our Culinary students. Each chef will represent a restaurant brand including Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Allison Kropff, from WTSP 10 News, will serve as the emcee for the event, and delicious desserts will be provided by (swah-rey).
“We are thrilled to be partnering with these incredible restaurants this year,” said Karen Higgins, PARC’s President & CEO. “Their support helps raise awareness to PARC’s Culinary Program and the opportunities it brings to hundreds of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities served throughout the year.”
