A new film, “Carrie Pilby,” based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Caren Lissner and executive produced by Clearwater native Elaine Harris, will have a one-time VIP screening to benefit Religious Community Services, Inc. (RCS), Monday evening March 20, 2017, at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater.
Tickets are $50, which includes cocktails with hors d’oeuvres and the movie screening. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be available at 6:00 pm. The movie screening starts at 7:15 pm. “Carrie Pilby,” a comedy, centers on a young, highly-intelligent 19-year-old girl who graduates from Harvard and struggles to make sense of the world, and stars Bel Powley, Nathan Lane, Gabriel Byrne, Jason Ritter (the late John Ritter’s son), William Moseley, Vanessa Bayer and Colin O’Donoghue.
The film was screened at this past fall’s Toronto International Film Festival, at this month’s Santa Barbara Film Festival–among others–and will also be shown at the upcoming Gasparilla International Film Festival, Tampa, prior to its global release at the end of March.
Elaine Harris, the film’s executive producer, currently resides in London and brings more than 35 years of international experience as an Assurance and Advisory Partner of Ernst & Young. She has been based in London since 2005 working with clients throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa focusing on the Technology, Media, Entertainment, Consumer Products, Oil & Gas and Automotive industries. She served as a coordinating partner for several global film studios and consumer products companies.
She holds several professional certifications and is a regular speaker and panelist on governance, international and leadership issues. She is a regular attendee of the Fortune Most Powerful Women in Business Summit, on the National Council of the American Film Institute and serves on several corporate boards.
Elaine, the daughter of Barbara Harris and the late Dr. Delmar Harris, is a third-generation Clearwater native and attended Pinellas County schools. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
The mission of RCS is to feed the hungry, shelter those facing homelessness and empower survivors of domestic violence, which it does through multiple programs and services.
