Folly Farm Nature Preserve is a plot of around eight acres of land donated in 2014 to the City of Safety Harbor to help develop green space to offer local residents a nature lover’s escape from the hectic day-to-day pace of city life. Opened in April 2007, the park located at 1562 Dr. MLK St. N. in Safety Harbor features a variety of amenities for the whole family and the nature lover at heart including a playground, butterfly garden, nature trails, observation gardens, a community orchard and sway bench swings.
Folly Farm is the site of special community events throughout the year including one this Friday, January 3. Families can come out for an Evening Hike and Campfire, a night of fun to include an educational hike through the preserve followed by a campfire with smores and stories. Parents must accompany their child, and all should dress appropriately for the weather forecast (including bug spray!) Guests can register in advance or onsite. For more information, click here.
For other outdoor spaces to enjoy check out John Chestnut Senior Park here. Or even Moccasin Lake Nature Park.
