George C. McGough Nature Park

George C. McGough Nature Park is often referred to as the “turtle park,” George C. McGough Nature Park in Largo offers visitors a beautiful escape from the hectic pace and bumper-to-bumper traffic with trails and a boardwalk to explore, a butterfly garden and nature center, and a thriving aquatic turtle population.

George C. McGough Nature Park

Currently, twenty-four beautiful birds of prey call the George C. McGough Nature Park their home.  These birds have injuries or conditions that prevent their return to the wild, but they live colorful lives with us at the park as ambassadors for their species.  Not only do they team up with volunteers to reach out and educate, the birds also provide a therapeutic experience for wounded veterans through the Avian Veteran Alliance. To learn more visit them at https://www.natureparkfriends.org/ These birds are cared for by The Friends of Largo Nature Parks.
