Stop by Lakeland’s Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium for a unique anniversary party. The Good Old Days of Tigers Baseball and Cigars Under the Stars runs Sunday, July 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., following the afternoon minor-league baseball game when the Lakeland Flying Tigers take on the visiting Clearwater Threshers at 1 p.m.
After the game, guests can attend this separately-ticketed event ($35) presented by the Ted Williams Hall of Fame that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Detroit Tigers’ win over the St. Louis Cardinals for the 1968 World Series Championship. Attend a meet and greet with legendary Tigers pitcher Denny McLain and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, one drink voucher and one cigar, to be smoked outside by the Outback Dugout. McLain will be signing autographs and sharing baseball stories with fans.
