Are you ready for our annual rite of Spring? Gulfport’s 15th Annual Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes takes place Saturday, March 7, 11 am to 5 pm. The tour features homes in the neighborhoods between Beach Blvd. and 49th Street S, south of Gulfport Blvd.
The Gulfport’s 15th Annual Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes begins in the registration area at historic Scout Hall, 5315 28th Street S. The homes range from stately neo-Mediterranean Roebuck properties to magnificent remodels you’d never guess had been duplexes. The Gulfport History Museum is also on the tour, where you can learn more about this part of town affectionately known as “The Bluff.”
The homes in the Gulfport’s 15th Annual Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes are close enough for walking or biking. For those who prefer or require transportation, buses and the Gulfport trolley will be circling nonstop. To avoid congestion on our narrow streets, we ask you not to drive the route but to park in the designated parking areas around town (TBD), where shuttles will take you to the registration area at Scout Hall. Feel free to go at your own pace, seeing homes in any order.
The tour skims Gulfport’s waterfront district, so there will be plenty of time to take a lunch break or shop in our historic downtown.

Maybe they will just take in the scenery or photograph the colorful buildings and homes that sit on tree covered streets in Gulfport. Lunch or Dinner would be enjoyed in any of the several popular restaurants on Gulfport, Beach and Shore Blvds.
Gulfport Florida has beautiful parks and a relaxing walk in the Clam Bayou Nature Preserve is always a visual and auditory treat with the sights and sounds of wild birds, the breeze in the trees, and the water of the bayou. One of my favorite things to do in Gulfport is walk out onto Williams’ Pier at sunset to take pictures or just follow the sun as it goes down while watching the clouds put on a colorful show. After it gets dark, I let my eyes dance with the reflecting lights from Salty’s Gulfport and O’ Maddy’s Bar and Grill on the gentle evening waves for a calming experience.
On the first Friday and third Saturday of every month at 6:00 pm, Beach Blvd. comes alive with artists, vendors, musicians, and great food during our famous Gulfport Art Walks.
Every Tuesday is Gulfport’s Tuesday Fresh Market where fresh produce is sold and vendors set up offering fresh baked breads, fresh seafood, cheeses, nuts, spices and sauces, along with hand crafted art and clothing and more!Gulfport Florida is a great place to discover, and I promise you will be pleased with what you find.

More on the Pink Flamingo Hour of Homes
From its inception in the 1990s, the Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes has become an annual ritual that always takes place the first Saturday in March. Loyal visitors and our advertisers and sponsors have made it the Gulfport Merchants Chamber’s most successful fundraiser.
Each Gulfport’s Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes they seek out the best homes to represent our wonderful city. We look for a mixture of homes to highlight the eclectic nature of Gulfport. Homes may be selected because they are very small, very large, very colorful, absolutely gorgeous, original, newly renovated, or just “out there.” Homeowners consider it an honor to be invited to participate on the tour.
To keep the tour short enough (typically two to four hours) for walkers and bikers, the tour is arranged geographically, focusing on one area of the City each year. Free trolley and bus service along the route is provided as well.
Visitors may visit any of the homes in Gulfport’s Pink Flamingo Tour of Homes in any order and go at their own pace. Everyone receives a tour book containing a map of the homes along with scheduled trolley stops. Some of our advertisers offer “specials” for the day, so be sure to check out the ads in the tour book.
