Historic Kenwood & Bungalowfest

Historic Kenwood & Bungalowfest

Historic Kenwood & Bungalowfest 2019 is a year long celebration of this charming historic place right here in Destination Tampa Bay! In 1912, Kenwood developer Charles Hall who arrived from Philadelphia bought 160 acres of avocado groves just two miles northeast of downtown St. Pete and transformed it into what is now known as Historic Kenwood, the City’s first suburb and neighborhood for year-round residents as opposed to the snowbirds who would come and go. Most of the area’s homes were built during the 1920s through 1950s. In 2003, the neighborhood became officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
