Meet the LOCALE MARKET Lineup:

Founder Michael Mina
Michael Mina is an award-winning celebrity chef who finds a parallel between cooking and life: the secret is in how well you learn to balance it all. For Michael, his career in the cooking field began as a 15-year-old Garde Manger (or “keeper of the food”) for a small French restaurant.

Founder Don Pintabona
Don Pintabona served as former executive chef at Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Grill of New York City for more than a decade. A USF grad, Don earned national attention when he organized NYC’s best known chefs following 9/11 as they came together in a collective effort to keep first responders and other relief workers well-fed during a highly stressful time.

Marketing Manager, Shaun Feld
The decision to pursue a Master’s degree at USF brought Shaun Feld back to St. Pete, where he once grew up, but it’s been the LOCALE Market that has kept him here. Shaun now serves in one of the market management roles where he gets to interact with both vendors and visitors to the Market.

Market Manager, Rachele Winkelmann
From Pennsylvania, Rachele Winkelmann took away the beautiful, tranquil countryside. During her next adventures in Seattle, she developed a passion for food. By the time she reached St. Pete, her experience in natural foods and interest in organic and biodynamic foods made her the perfect addition to the LOCALE Market team just as it prepared to open in December 2014.

Director of Catering & Events, Cristina Scaramuzzi
With an impressive 25-year background in food and beverage, Cristina Scaramuzzi works closely with clients to support their special event needs. Her hands-on experience as a former owner/operator of one of the largest off premise catering companies in the Florida Keys translates into invaluable knowledge and insight into what makes a memorable event — whether hosted onsite at the Market or at a venue partner.
LOCALE MARKET ~ A Unique Blend of Shopping & Dining

What would a chef-driven culinary marketplace look like? That is, if you could build a place where both foodies and cooking enthusiasts could go to see, smell, taste and have access for their own creations hand-picked and thoughtfully sourced ingredients?

Welcome to LOCALE Market. This unique culinary ‘Adventureland’ is more than a shopping or dining complex — it is a heavenly and often scrumptious destination, a wonderful place to meet up with fellow foodies, catch up with friends over a freshly cooked meal or over drinks during Happy Hour.
LOCALE Market is a destination for both shopping and dining, yes, but it is also a destination for experiences — namely, engaging in the full span of the food experience.
There is no other place like it in the St. Petersburg area. And as the Market’s popularity grows and more and more people come from other nearby communities to experience it for themselves, events hosted or supported by LOCALE Market will continue to thrive and grow offering live music, special food events and festivals and other community gatherings.
Not bad for two chefs who discovered their love for food at an early age and dedicated the rest of their lives to encourage others to explore their passion for it, too.
Where the LOCALE MARKET Story Began
If you’ve been a longtime member of the St. Pete community, then the word “BayWalk” will ring a bell. But if you’re fairly new to the area, let us offer a brief history lesson in downtown St. Petersburg. In 2011, The Edwards Group set out to enliven and transform the now weary entertainment plaza BayWalk and launch the Sundial lifestyle center. At the core of this exciting new ‘neighborhood’ — a premiere shopping and dining destination.

Thus began the inspiration and mission behind LOCALE Market, 20,000 square feet of culinary nirvana – whether you let talented chefs take the helm or purchase the quality gourmet goods to whip up a masterpiece at home yourself. You don’t have to be a great cook; you just have to love and appreciate good food. But if you do happen to love cooking and eating, you may find it tough to pull yourself away to go home.

LOCALE Market offers foodies and fearless chefs alike the opportunity to explore — a unique blend of gourmet grocery and creative cuisine, access to both the products as well as the dishes that delight. Led by James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina and acclaimed chef and author Don Pintabona, LOCALE Market features hand-selected ingredients and thoughtfully sourced, artisan products.

The Market is modeled after the great markets of Europe and includes finely prepared and baked goods as well as the freshest produce, meats and seafood straight from the source, and top quality ingredients available for both aspiring chefs who stop by the gourmet grocery or food lovers who wish to dine onsite to appreciate and head upstairs to FarmTable Cucina, which has grown into one of the most celebrated St. Petersburg eateries since its debut.
Scrumptious Spaces to Hover
Visitors to LOCALE Market have so many places to stop by and experience for themselves. From an award-winning gift shop to a popular coffee bar and ultimately, the Market’s signature restaurant FarmTable Cucina, you better get both your feet and your palate ready to explore. FARMTABLE CUCINA

FarmTable Cucina is an Italian-inspired restaurant that specializes in casual, family-style dining — sharing plates and experiencing authentic Italian cuisine made with fresh, regionally sourced ingredients. The restaurant’s signature dishes include house-made pastas, pizzas and fresh breads with a full bar available to offer craft beer, wine by the glass and handcrafted cocktails.
Tantalizing Tastes to Uncover
Who says adventure must involve swashbucklers and capes? In the right set of circumstances, all it might require is a really big juicy burger. But at the LOCALE Market, there is truly a sandwich for every set of taste buds and so much more.
GOURMET BURGERS & SANDWICHES

The LOCALE Market’s sandwich lineup looks like something one might see strolling down an art gallery hallway, mouthwatering mountains of meaty masterpieces, one after another. Are you a traditionalist — the mountainous American Cheeseburger (at left) takes burger lovers to new heights.

Care for a BBQ Salmon Burger? How about a Chorizo Burger ? Maybe poultry is your meat of choice and need to sink your teeth into the The Wicked Chicken (right) with a taste so big (and HOT), it stretches outside the bun (literally).
SURF AND TURF

Maybe you prefer to travel by land and by sea, and would enjoy the latest fresh catch made to order over a wood-fire grill and paired with a brisket and some homestyle-prepared sides? Or perhaps you’re preparing a seafood feast of your own and need to place an order by the pound to take home with you. The options are limitless.
SWEET TREATS

Those who have a sweet tooth will have no difficulty finding something to satisfy it at the LOCALE Market. A little ice cream, a milkshake or sundae or one of a large assortment of cookies, pastries and other scrumptious sweets are on display to tempt visitors. In addition, we now offer catering and large party order services!
FRESH-MADE ARTISAN PIZZA

If you’re not yet ready for dessert but pies of another kind are on the brain, visitors can stop in and order a fresh, custom made artisan pizza delivered in less than three minutes! And nearby, a premium sandwich bar offers a multitude of signature sandwiches or the opportunity to whip up your own.
CHEERS TO BEVERAGE OPTIONS

LOCALE Market offers an impressive selection of curated wines, local craft beers, sake and sparkling wine. Given St. Pete’s well-known enthusiasm and support for the craft beer industry, the LOCALE sells more than 100 varieties of craft beers, in bottles, cans and on tap. Over two dozen locally brewed beers are available on tap. But wine aficionados have nothing to fear — the LOCALE’s wine bar also offers some of the best wines the Bay area delivers.
Engaging Events to Discover

The LOCALE Market continues to look for new ways to engage with the St. Petersburg community. By providing greater access to quality goods, delicious dishes and both fun and educational events, the LOCALE becomes a valuable resource in the community to provide access to carefully-sourced goods and to support local farms, breweries and other food providers and other vendors wherever possible.
