Master Gardener Cheryl Worth Offers Alternative

To Palm Harbor Library’s Helpful Gardening Series

The Palm Harbor Library has announced that they will be closed to group meetings through the end of July, so Master Gardener Cheryl Worth has put together some online classes for gardening enthusiasts who have been attending classes there. The program involves the use of  Zoom, a software-based system where you can listen to a lecture and have an opportunity to interact. This will take some time to set up with our lecturers, so in the meantime Cheryl has some links to online Extension programs that you can tune into from home.

The first series of webinars is being given by James Stevenson, Extension Specialist. The program is called ‘Exploring the Plants and Animals of Florida’. It will take place every Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. until June 24. Participants will learn about the wonders of the plants and animals frequently encountered in Florida. The series will cover a range of topics from “Bugs and Butterflies in Your Backyard” to “Spice Science” and aims to inspire a desire to protect these “super-beings” and their natural habitats.

These classes take place online via Zoom. Registered participants will receive the web link via email at the time of registration. Master Gardener Cheryl Worth also suggests an Extension webinar series gardeners may be interested in watching: ‘Wildlife of Florida Webinar’ series. Join UF/IFAS Extension Agents, Shannon Carnevale and Lara Milligan, for a series of webinars on Florida’s diverse wildlife and ecosystems. These webinars  will continue through Monday, May 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
