Brings Top Tennis Players To Compete

The 16th Annual Raymond James Super Senior Grand Prix begins on Monday, Feb. 24, at St. Petersburg Country Club, 2000 Country Club Way South. The Super Senior Grand Prix event is one of the top three senior tennis tournaments held in Florida (USTA Category II National Championship and ITF Grade 1).  It attracts close to 300 top players from all over the U.S. and several from outside the country.  The seven-day event continues until March 1. 

The  Super Senior Grand Prix players will compete in eight age divisions in both singles and doubles in 5-year increments, beginning at age 55 through 90.  Players earn cash prizes and points for state, national and world rankings. Cash prizes are based on 25 percent of the entry fee plus 50% of net program revenues, which provides the highest prize money on the SSGP Circuit. Find out more about the tournament here.

Special events include a tournament banquet with live music on Thursday, Players will all receive a tournament long sleeve dry fit T-shirt. All USTA members were eligible to compete in this event.
