Help & Hope for People in Need
RCS Pinellas is hosting a Legislative Luncheon on July 17 at 11 a.m. at Mt Olive A.M.E. Church. RCS Pinellas President and CEO Kirk Ray Smith will discuss the organization’s response to the housing and homeless crisis facing Pinellas County, in addition to addressing the mission’s vision and directionality moving forward.
“Having ongoing and meaningful conversations with local lawmakers is often overlooked by some nonprofits and other charities. In many cases, this is due to a mythical perception that says given our tax-exempt status, we cannot engage government officials individually and/or collectively on issues that are important to us. While it’s not a best practice to publically endorse any single person or political position using the organization’s resources or platform, it is however, a healthy practice to seek opportunities to share mission, vision and directionality with decision makers on a consistent basis; our legislative luncheon gives us a chance to do just that,” says Kirk Ray Smith, President & CEO of RCS Pinellas.
The RCS Legislative Luncheon will be held at Mt Olive A.M.E. Church’s Ancestral Hall, 600 Jones St, Clearwater, Florida 33755. This free event runs from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be an opportunity for Q&A with RCS President and CEO. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by July 3 to Lauren Misa at [email protected] or 727-482-1911.
