Off the heels of last month’s 2nd Annual Reggae Rise Up Florida Festival at Vinoy Park which saw more than 6,000 attendees, Reggae Rise Up – a nationally recognized production and promotional company known for large scale Reggae Festivals in both Utah and Florida – announces their latest project, the Rise Up Sunday Sessions, a monthly concert series at Jannus Live in St. Pete, Florida.
The Rise Up Sunday Sessions at Jannus Live will take place the last Sunday of each month running from May through September. While the full line-up has yet to be announced Reggae Rise Up will be kicking off the first event of the series on Sunday, May 29th, with Savannah-based Reggae/Rock favorites Passafire. The inaugural show will additionally feature support from St. Petersburg natives Resinated, Miami’s internationally eclectic Reggae powerhouse Jahfe, and Jacksonville’s Sidereal. Previous Reggae Rise Up line-ups have included internationally-acclaimed recording artists such as: Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Steel Pulse, Dirty Heads, Collie Buddz, Tribal Seeds, Stick Figure, Fortunate Youth, J Boog, and many more.
If a major annual festival at Vinoy Park and monthly summer series at Jannus wasn’t enough to demonstrate the brands commitment to establishing itself in the Tampa Bay market, Reggae Rise Up will be partnering with Beach – Bar | Restaurant (formerly Hogan’s Beach) located at Rocky Point on the Courtney Campbell Causeway for an additional monthly series in the same genre titled Irie Vibes Saturdays. While Beach will host live music every Saturday, Reggae Rise Up will partner with the location once a month for another large scale concert bringing the best in Reggae and Reggae/Rock to both sides of the bay all summer long.
Reggae Rise Up has additionally partnered with Gulfster.com/Gulfster Present – one of Florida’s leading and longest standing surf report sites and their associated event brand – and Sugarshack Sessions – an independent acoustic Reggae-centric web series based out of Ft. Myers/Naples whose YouTube channel saw over half a million plays in 2015 and will be filming each of the shows scheduled for this summer.
