Valentine’s Swim Meet
The 28th Annual Masters SCY Valentine’s Swim Meet for athletes 18 years or older will be hosted at the Clearwater Long Center, 1501 N. Belcher Rd. in Clearwater on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8 and 9. On Saturday, Feb. 8, there will be a warm-up 7 a.m. for 1000 free, start at 8 a.m.; warm-up at 10 a.m. for other events, which will start at 11 a.m. On Sunday, Feb. 9, warm-up starts at 8 a.m. and the meet begins at 9. The Long Center is located at 1501 N. Belcher Road in Clearwater.

The Long Center facility is an indoor 50-meter x 25-yard pool. This meet will be using 8 of the facility’s 20 short course yard lanes with Daktronics timing for competition and 10 lanes will be provided for warm-ups during the meet. All events will be held in numerical order slow to fast. The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1. The primary timing system will be automatic timing. The official times from this meet may be submitted for USMS records and Top 10 Times consideration.

U.S. Masters Swimming is a national membership-operated nonprofit that provides membership benefits to nearly 65,000 Masters swimmers across the country. These benefits include insurance, SWIMMER magazine, sanctioned events, and more. USMS and its 52 Local Masters Swimming Committees (LMSCs) provide direct support to more than 1,500 Masters Swimming clubs and workout groups.
Structure and organization of USMS programs vary and are driven by factors such as pool availability, instructor or coach availability, community support, and finances. The majority of locations offering Masters Swimming programs have coaches on deck. Coaches write workouts and provide feedback and instruction.
