Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival will take place at many of the City’s ‘Happening’ Spots. Who’s who of songwriters and performers will be in town to participate in this year’s event to be held November 1 through 3. There’ll be live music at many of the “happening” spots around town all three days. In partnership with BMI, over 35 eclectic and diverse songwriters will perform over 100 free acoustic events while sharing the stories behind their biggest songs.

The big Kickoff Concert for the Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival is set for 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at The Mahaffey Theater, with Ed Roland and Jesse Triplett of Collective Soul (Top) on stage, followed by The Warren Brothers and Sonia Leigh (LEFT).

Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival Matisyahu performs

Saturday night’s featured performance will be at Jannus Live. It will feature an Acoustic Concert with Matisyahu (RIGHT) and another performer to be announced later. These two concerts require tickets, which are available online. Virtually all the other musical events will be offered free of charge (except, of course, for food and beverage purchases).

Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival with Lindsay-Rimes-

Friday’s Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival will include performance before and after the Kickoff Concert all around town at Thirsty First, The Galley, Red Mesa Cantina, and rooftop performances by Joseph Patton and Lindsay Rimes (LEFT) at The Canopy at The Birchwood.

Saturday and Sunday will continue with day-long music. Participating spots on Saturday include the Saturday Morning Market, One Night Stand, Red Mesa Cantina, Thirsty First, Subcentral at Iberian Rooster, MacDinton’s, The Galley, Caddy’s on Central, Yard of Ale, The Galley, The Hollander (Poolside), Parks & Recreation, and Ruby’s Elixir.

Sunday’s hot spots for Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival will be held at the Parks and Recreation, Yard of Ale, Ruby’s Elixir, Jannus Live, Buddy on Central, the Hollander Poolside, MacDinton’s and Caddy’s on Central.
