& The FLOW of Acting Classes
Stageworks Theatre has been hailed as one of the area’s most outstanding theater companies and is certainly one of the city’s longest-running, launching in 1983. The venue has provided many opportunities for area performers, playwrights, designers, directors and other theatrical staff and is overseen by Producing Artistic Director Karla Hartley and a 13-member board, and day-to-day operations and productions which can serve over 20,000 audience members annually carried out by 11 full-time and part-time staff members, 168 artists and over 100 volunteers. The theater company moved into its current Channel District-based location inside Grand Central in 2012, at 1120 East Kennedy Blvd., Suite 151. This popular space is also made available for rental for corporate meetings, private parties and other special events.
The theater company currently prepares for its new season of shows to launch with its opening production “Wait Until Dark” (which runs September 27 through October 13). However, for those who have always wanted to explore the world of acting, Stageworks is offering a series of acting classes Sunday nights 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. starting September 8 called The FLOW of Acting. Learn how to find your energized focus, overcome fear of performing before a group and gain confidence. For more information, click here. For other neat things to do check this out.
