The Actual Dance to be Performed in Tampa

Celebrates Caregivers and a Husband’s Journey with Wife’s Breast Cancer

The Tampa International Fringe Festival is May 11-14, 2017. Sam Simon, a playwright and actor, will perform his play, The Actual Dance, which portrays his role as a caregiver and how his faith helped him to support his wife during breast cancer.  The Actual Dance has won awards and been performed off Broadway in New York. The play is touring the country to much acclaim, and critics have said about the play:

“… A harrowing journey into the workings of the human heart . . . a rarely seen male perspective on a disease that afflicts mostly women.”  NY Jewish Week

“The Actual Dance becomes a life affirming ode to commitment and boundless love.” Manhattan Digest

A rare male voice in the breast cancer journey, The Actual Dance transforms the stage into an other-worldly place called The Ballroom, with an orchestra that in the show includes a cellist and classical guitarist. It is a graceful and inspiring journey through the uncharted waters of illness, where the resilience and power of the human heart ultimately persevere.  A tribute to the silent side of caregiving, the play presents a point of view that is almost never heard. It is the partner’s story. It is a love story.  For more Information and Tickets and for details on the Tampa International Fringe Festival .
