The Four Freshmen Visit Destination Tampa Bay
At Central Park Performing Art Center
The Four Freshmen have enamored listeners world-wide for years, while gaining recognition as one of the most influential vocal groups of all time. Their sound inspired The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, The Mamas & The Papas, Frankie Valli, and the Manhattan Transfer. The Freshmen have recorded over 75 albums, 70 top selling singles, and received 6 Grammy Nominations. The group has toured constantly since their inception, continuing to perform around the globe. Now the Four Freshmen are scheduled to visit Destination Tampa Bay at The Central Park Performing Arts Center.
The Four Freshmen is an American male vocal quartet that blends open-harmonic jazz arrangements with the big band vocal group sounds of The Modernaires, The Pied Pipers, and The Mel-Tones, founded in the barbershop tradition. The Four Freshmen is considered a vocal band because the singers accompany themselves on guitar, horns, bass, and drums, among other instrumental configurations.
