Dining out can be tricky and frustrating with food sensitivities, allergies, or other dietary restrictions. However, eating at restaurants can be an enjoyable experience – if you know the right places to go! As someone who recently found out they have multiple food sensitivities, I’m here to share some of the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area that offer delicious, affordable, and of course, allergy-friendly, menus.
First Watch Cafe: With their beautifully plated and filling dishes, First Watch Cafe is the perfect place for a cozy breakfast with friends. Both gluten-free and vegan options are available, and many dishes can be customized to fit these needs – if not included already.
I highly recommend trying the Carrot Cake Pancakes (I asked for the gluten-free version), the A.M Superfoods Bowl (I asked for gluten-free toast), and the Morning Meditation Fresh Juice.
A full menu, with both nutritional information and ingredient lists can be found here.
With six locations in Tampa alone, First Watch Cafe is dedicated to providing a healthy and happy start to your morning!
SOHO Juice Company: On a hot day in the Bay, nothing beats a cold acai bowl from SOHO Juice. These smoothie bowls can be customized with a variety of bases and toppings. From Almond Joy Overnight Oats to Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites, this gluten-free and vegan menu is truly a treat.
As a frequent customer of SOHO Juice, I suggest trying one of the Unlimited Superfood Bowls, which allows you to pick as many toppings as you want. It is the best bang for your buck!

Fresh Kitchen: Looking for a light and refreshing lunch? Fresh Kitchen offers a diverse menu and the opportunity to build your own bowl! With a 100% gluten-free menu and a wide variety of dairy free options, this restaurant is a must try.
Some unique menu items I love to incorporate into my order are the: Sweet Potato Noodles, Chilled Caprese Tofu, and Coconut Ginger Rice.

Fresh Kitchen locations can be found not only in Tampa, but also in: Orlando, Boca Raton, St. Pete, and Sarasota.
Taco Dirty: From build-your-own burritos, tacos, and bowls, Taco Dirty offers a unique, Mexican-inspired menu. Everything listed on the menu is gluten and dairy free!
Don’t get me wrong – I love trying new things, but these are a few of my favorite items: Avocado Citrus Rice, Fried Buffalo Avo Broccoli, Grilled Lime + Sour Orange Chicken, and Plant-Based Cauli Queso.

Hale Life Bakery: This award-winning, gluten-free, and vegan bakery is the ultimate destination if you have a sweet tooth! All products are dairy, egg, soy, peanut, and tree nut free. There is a large assortment of donuts, cupcakes, brownies, and even savory items, like stuffed “cheesy” garlic bites and soft pretzel bites, available for purchase. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy at Hale Life Bakery.
Some of my personal favorites include the: Raspberry Cheesecake Cupcake, Pumpkin Carrot Raisin Bread, and the Spinach Artichoke Dip.
A detailed menu and list of ingredients can be found here or on their website.
If you visit their website, you can even enter your email to receive a coupon for a free baked good that is redeemable at both their Tampa and Clearwater/St. Pete locations. So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to Hale Life Bakery!
