Tourme and International Touring Apps Calls St Pete Home

Tourme is the latest tourism application allowing users to book tours in cities like Boston, New York and Bonaire, instantly from the palm of their hand. The company, International Touring Apps, LLC has selected St. Pete as home for its official headquarters.  Since its conception earlier this year, Tourme has taken-off quickly, projected to have 50 million downloads by the end of 2020. The company, now occupying co-working space in downtown St. Petersburg’s Station House, is preparing for rapid expansion.

“In St. Petersburg, we have seen technology companies grow and thrive because they receive support from the entire community,” St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman said. “I am pleased to welcome International Touring Apps and thank them for their dedication to the Sunshine City. I am looking forward to their continued growth as they expand their global reach.”

International Touring Apps is one of many innovative tech firms moving to St. Pete in record numbers over the last year. The city is also home to major Fortune 500 companies including Jabil and Raymond James Financial.  “Picking the area was a no brainer,” Gary Capuano, International Touring Apps LLC Co-Founder said. “As a central Florida resident for the last 20 years, I’ve witnessed the rise in commercial and local development in St. Petersburg, and we wanted to be part of that journey.”

Tourme’s future growth will require significant expansion of staff, bringing innovative, creative jobs to St. Petersburg. The company is discussing a vocational job training program offering locals the necessary resources to become official Guides for the application.  Tourme is also looking to hire 50 independent contractors in the Tampa Bay area over the next few months with plans to expand as the application grows.  “The tech boom in St. Pete combined with the success of growing startups is attracting innovative companies from around the world,” David Punzak, St. Petersburg EDC Chair said. “We are excited to see the creative jobs created by Tourme’s decision and will continue working to aid in their expansion and development.”

Tourme was released on the App Store and Google Play March 4, 2018. Prospective Guides are encouraged to fill out an application online at partner.tourme.com or on the app using their mobile device. All Guides will be background checked and interviewed before they are hired. Employment inquiries, Guide qualifications and questions about the application should be directed to www.partner.tourme.com or the free application, available for download on GooglePlay and the App Store.
