Join the MFA St Pete for one of the unique Marly Music Concert. A father-son collaborative team, Eric and Martin Demaine fold, pleat, and twist paper into powerful sculptural forms that illustrate the intriguing and profound connections between mathematics and origami. While they do their amazing art, John C. O’Leary III, a Mexican American jazz pianist, composer and neuroscientist will accompany them. Together, the three scientists/artists will create a performance piece based on the intersecting notions of left and right brain, as part of our expanding Marly Music programming for 2019.
Tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis. Tickets include general Museum admission. $1615 for Marly Music Society Members. $15 for Students with current ID and $25 for Adult Non-Marly Music Society Members.
This unique program is ideally suited to the Museum of Fine Art’s current ongoing exhibit. Paper is transformed into breathtaking sculpture, large-scale installations and conceptual works that express contemporary social, political, and aesthetic ideas. The exhibit will continue through September 22. The Museum is located at 255 Beach Drive NE in St. Petersburg.
