USF Brewing Arts has arrived! Learn about the enduring influence of beer through the ages at this annual two-day beer tasting at the Museum of Fine Arts! This year, students in the USF Brewing Arts program and area homebrewers are creating beers inspired by the MFA’s mosaics and the ancient city of Antioch. On Thursday, July 19, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. the theme will be “From Grounds to Growers: How Beer Helped Shape Ethiopia and the Mediterranean.”
From 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 20, the Beer Project will examine “Civilized Consumption: Drinking Games Through the Ages.” Participating brewers include Rapp Brewing, Flying Boat Brewing Co., Green Bench Brewery, 3 Daughters Brewing, and Mastry’s Brewing Co. Must be 21 or older to participate. Tickets include beer tastings and glassware as well as food and the galleries. The MFA is located at 255 Beach Drive in St. Pete.
