Words to Live by that Inspire

The theme of the August exhibit at Stirling Art Studios & Gallery is “Words to Live by that Inspire”. A Call to Artists was sent encouraging artists to submit their 2D and 3D art based on this theme.  The result is an exhibit of 108 pieces of art from 58 artists. This exhibit runs the entire month of August with an opening reception on Friday, August 10, from 5:30-8:00 pm and is free to the public.  (This special opening is at the same time as the Second Friday event in downtown Dunedin.

“The Studio Life” Linda Renc

One of the exhibiting artists is Linda Renc. Her piece, “The Studio Life” is calligraphy collage. The hand-lettered quotation crystallizes Renc’s feeling about moving into her new art studio.

 

Linda Renc and her husband, painter Bill Renc, are artists/owners of Painted Fish Gallery in Dunedin. They recently closed their retail gallery of 24 years and moved to 234 Monroe Street sharing a building with four other artists and Ann’s Monroe Street Gallery. Linda has exhibited her calligraphy internationally and teaches classes starting in September at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. www.paintedfishgallery.com

Another exhibiting artist is Gainor Roberts. Gainor’s oil painting is “Keats Was Right”, a 15” X 24” (Golden Ratio Canvas). This painting is based on a Keat’s poem “Ode to a Grecian Urn” with the phrase “Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty.”oil, watercolor, pastel and egg tempura

Gainor has been painting practically all her life. She studied with world-renowned artist, Robert Brackman. Gainor has a home studio in Zephyhills where she paints in oil, watercolor, pastel and egg tempura. She also teaches throughout the Tampa Bay Area.  “Keats Was Right” featured above is by Gainor Roberts.
