Cigar City Cider and Mead in Ybor City is hosting the Taylor Raynor Music Album Release Party on January 27 beginning at 8p. The public is invited to attend the first unveiling of the artist’s debut solo LP “The Story of You and Me.” Taylor Raynor is a Florida-based songwriter, musician and performer. Borrowing from folk, indie and pop music, Raynor has found a unique style of his own. “The Story of You and Me” is a concept album that depicts the ups and downs of a romantic relationship. The songs range from simple quirky love songs with a hint of pop to more somber acoustic songs.
The Release Party will feature several other expressive style bands. Attendees will enjoy the rich roots sound of popular Orlando-based singer/songwriter Matthew Fowler along with the soothing presence of Jeff Hughes’ classical style guitar performance and Terrapin with his ambient electronic sounds. Featured artist, Matthew Fowler has a large indie following and has agreed to appear at this premiere event in honor of Raynor’s solo LP.
Fowler is the perfect storm of all the essential singer-songwriter elements; a raw and organic voice with intricate melodies and compelling musicianship. He released his homegrown debut album, “Beginning”, in the Spring 0f 2014. American Songwriter Magazine hailed Fowler stating, “Fowler shows the same mastery of earnest, strummy, songcraft as established artists like Damien Rice and Ben Howard.”
Hughes will open with easy listening instrumental guitar compositions from greats like Bach, Howe, Hackett and Qualey. Terrapin, fronted by Nick Capone, will round out the evening with his mesmerizing 80s inspired movement synthesized dance vibes. Raynor, a member of the instrumental group Gullwing and former member of jamgrass roots band Slickwood, is currently promoting and touring his album and will have more projects in the works soon.
